New Look..

Hey Guys.... I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. The sun was shining, birds were chirping and I actually enjoyed doing nothing (Strange for me)! It was surely a wonderful one spent around great people...

Okay I'm sure by now you have noticed a small change to my blog! Well I decided that it needed a new & more suited look. I'm about to start a whole new chapter in my life and thought a fresh looking blog would go very nicely. I really hope you all enjoy the new look as much as I do!

Only 33 more days until I set off on a new adventure to the other side of the country! EXCITEMENT!

A Sense Of Me Saturday!

Each Saturday from today I will answer one Question about myself that I have been asked. "A Sense Of Me Saturday!" has officially began! I hope you enjoy and feel free to use any of these questions.

What do you like most about yourself?

Physically I like my hair! No No I lied, I love my long red hair. Over the past few years I've made terrible mistakes with my hair as I'm sure most females have at one time or another. Bleached it, Cut it, Dyed it to many times to count trying to cover the colour I was born with. But not now, I love it, women pay hundreds of dollars to have red locks and I was grateful enough to be blessed with them!! YAY for me!

Mentally what I like about my self the most would have to be my ability to see things from someone elses point of view. Don't get me wrong I jump to conclusions alot, this I am guilty of. But when it comes down to it I always think of where someone else is coming from, Take a walk in their shoes and imagine seeing things through their eyes. I know alot of you are sitting there thinking "Yeah I can do that too! Everyone can"! This is not true, I've have came across alot of people who don't have the ability to even imagine what it would be like to see things through the eyes of someone else.

I hope you all enjoyed my first "A Sense Of Me Saturday!". If you have any questions you would like to ask me please leave a comment or contact me any which way you like.

How can we be expected to decide between right and wrong ...

...when we can’t even decide what to have for dinner?

Answer me this; Who decides what is right or wrong? The government, tradition, religion, Queen, culture, our families, ourselves? When you are young it's our parents, teachers and other grown-ups. They believe there decisions will make us a good person and help us get on in the world. But throughout our lives we will be put in situations, learn our own lessons and make mistake which make us question certain rules.

Later in life it's the government, tradition & culture. But the problem is obeying rules doesn't always work. Good people make bad choices and bad people can make good choices, no one is perfect and it's just the way the world works. Who can say they have never done something "wrong" to satisfy others?

When it comes to the government I believe we do have to follow laws, rules and regulations. These are for our own good and to keep ourselves out of trouble. Why do we do this? For some, Because of the fear of fines, prison etc. We follow the law so we don't get punished, Just like we followed our parents/teachers rules. For most the law is a set of rules, by which we as a society agree to abide, which then allows us to function as a group.

Personally I believe I have a good idea of what is right and wrong when it comes to family & society, But this is not something alot of people understand. The fact is that the line between right and wrong has become so blurred today that many people wonder if there is a difference anymore.

No one will ever come up with a concrete conclusion to how we can decide between them. It sounds so simple, but if you sit down and think about it, all the fundamentals, its very complex. And as much as people say there is a right and wrong choice in every situation, I believe there is also alot of grey area.

What is your take on this??

Mandurah Update

I'll admit, I've been slack with updating you all with my plans of moving interstate. I'm so very sorry! I've been flat out trying to organise everything, engagement parties, day trips, catching up with family and much more. Now I just have to find where to start...

My flight is booked as many of you know by facebook. I'll be flying with Jetstar on Friday the 30th September and yes I know this is AFL grand final weekend (as I got informed 10 minutes after booking my ticket by my best mate Stacey). Lucky for me I my wonderful Aunty Vicky has offered to pick me up from the airport and offered to let me stay with her for a little while. I really did not want to be a hassle on anyone, but trying to find a house from here is becoming impossible (to say the least)!

Another exciting thing (well exciting to me) is that my Dad has offered to pay for my car to get freighted over!! This is not only saving us alot of money, he has also found a boutique courier that is willing to let me pack my car full of all my lovely belongings! 99% of couriers say no to allowing you to pack your car, So this is a huge bonus!!!!

Now all there is to do it organise, pack and visit everybody before I go. So if you want to see me and I haven't already contacted you PLEASE do!! (I'm so forgetful lately)

[Edit to Post] Note: As something has came up, I am no longer able to stay with my Aunty Vicky at this stage. So its time to try and find somewhere new. STRESS levels are up!!!! Wish me luck

BBQ Etiquette

We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh our memory on the etiquette of this outdoor cooking activity.

When attending a BBQ:

First thing first, Never turn up to a BBQ empty handed! It is an Aussie custom to bring some food and/or drink when attending a summer time Barbe. A slab of beer, pack of snags or a salad, Just don't arrive with your hands hanging.

Secondly, if you are a big drinker bring an ESKY!!! I can not count the number of Barbes I've been to where we have ran out of room to keep the booze icey cold. Last thing you want is a warm beer on a hot day.

Lastly, ENJOY it, eat up & drink alot!

When hosting a BBQ:
What you will need...

CHEF- The chef is usually the man of the house, but this duty can be shared with the "mans" mates!
Meat- Snags, Steak, Chops, Hamburgers, Chicken etc
Non-meat- Onions, Bread(You can't have snags without bread), Tomato and BBQ sauce, Salads(optional).
Other- Plastic plates, plastic cutlery, Esky's
A BBQ(Just about every home in Australia has a Barbe, it's the "norm" when it comes to household furniture_
Alcohol- Beer, Beer & Beer.

A Barbe usually works in this order. Drink, Cook then Eat...

There is nothing more Aussie than the Summer/Spring time Aussie Barbe. It is very much part of our way of life and is enjoyed all over Australia and at all levels of society.

I'm off to my first BBQ tonight! It's been way to long.

Why I Started Blogging?

I started my blog when I ran across A Quirky Girls Thoughts, I fell in love immediately. Jacques blog looked like fun, I had to find my own way, a powerful way to tell/scream out my own stories, A space to write what ever flows out of me. So that is what I did, I found a place were I could say what ever I wanted when ever I wanted, while keeping 1 thing in mind; "If people don't like what I have to say, They don't have to read it".

Another reason behind why I started to blog was stress relief or a type of therapy I guess you could say. Lets put it this way, I can't sleep very well at night time, My mind starts to go 100 miles an hour. I think about anything and everything to the point that I am wide awake. It's amazing that typing out my incoherent ramblings night after night can actually help me sleep.

All I have left to say is that I promise to keep this space, my space, as honest as possible. I'll always speak my mind, have my own opinion and share my own stories. I can only hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy sharing them.

(Please take a moment to check out Quirky Girls blog! Jacque is amazing, so positive and vibrant. I idolize this woman, her out look on life. When ever I am feeling down the first thing is I is check out whats new. Seriously she is just amazing!!!)
