Dangerous Dog?

Howdy Dudey...Lets get all the "How are you? Good thanks, Hope you have been having a lovely time" stuff out of the way. Okay so now we have covered all that lets get to something that is bothering me! Yes, you are right, I'm about to take part in a RANT post. Beware, because you have been warned.

Let's set the scene for shits and giggles. It was a bright sun shiny day with birds chirping, flowers blossoming and the waves gently crashing on the soft white sandy beaches of Inverloch. (Truth be told I don't recall if any of that was true, but just go with it okay!)

It's 7:50am and I'm nicely curled up in my big warm bed when I get woken from my slumber by a loud "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK BANG" on the front door. Jumping out of bed with messy bed hair and twisted PJs I answered the door to find the strangely happy postman standing there with his scooter helmet on and a letter in his hand. Not even bothering to ask what the letter is I sign my name, collect the letter and close the door. (I'm not the politest person when I've been woken up)

I walk to the lounge, throw the letter on the couch, grab a drink from the fridge and take Quinta (the dog) out to the toilet before I return to the couch to open the letter.
This is where we get to the start of my rant:

Breach of Duty

Dear Peter & Danielle

I believe you have breached your duty as a tentant because people walking past the property are getting scared as the dog is barking continously at them.

The loss or damage caused is interference with peace. You have used the premises in a way that caused interference with the peace, comfort and privacy of the neighbours.

I require you to remedy the breach within 14 days after receiving this notice by having the dog registered as a dangerous dog because of the breed.

Okay! Here we go... This letter is the most ridiculous thing I have ever received in the mail for a number of reasons. First of all DOGS DO BARK!!!! Just because we own a big dog and he has a bigger bark than our neighbours little yapper does not make him dangerous. To all those who are reading and don't know our dog he is a Rottweiler cross Doberman and his name is Quinta.

I bet some of you are thinking that maybe he should be registered as a dangerous dog because of his breed, But we have looked into it and have found out that he would have had to of attacked, chased or intended to attack someone to be classed dangerous.

I just can't get my mind around who would complain that we owned a dangerous dog because he barked??? The neighbours? Well if it was them then there is some serious issues there! Each and every morning they walk out on their belcony, which does cause Quinta to bark.... But.... He barks because everytime he does they give him a treat! YES a treat!!!!! They are rewarding him for barking at them. Mind you may I add he sits on our back step and waiting for them, then he has to sit before he gets his treat.

I know this rant is a bit of a muddled up pile of dog poop (haha), But I really needed to get it out of my system. I just wish people could mind their own business and not judge a book by its cover or in this case a dog by it's bark!!! I will keep you all updated on how we go seeming we can't register him as a dangerous dog... Wish us Luck!!!

Letter to my Niece

Date of these photos are the same date as this letter. Little Miss Kieley watching her self eat nuggets on my phone.

Little Miss Kieley,

I started writing this letter the day you were born, but through all the excitement of you coming into this world I misplaced it. So I thought it was time to start a new one. 1 year and 2 months later.

The date is 5th August 2011, you are 14 months old and it has been 14 amazing months! I feel so lucky that I have had the chance to watch you grow & learn over the last year. I try to spend as much time as I can with you, especially now, as you experience the world for the very first time. You are such a smart and cheeky little girl, always putting a smile on everyones faces.

I doubt you are aware of this, you are only just over 1 year old. Since you were born I have made it a habit to get lots of photos of you, photos are amazing things, they hold so many memories. I think this has something to do with your love and obsession for Iphones. No body can have one in their hand without you running for it, and you already know how to light the screen up!! I know 70 year olds who most likely would struggle to work that out.

I love you, and from the day you were born I've said I’m going to do my damnest to be the best auntie there ever was, to love you unconditionally, to play with you, watch you grow, and spoil the hell out of you.

I'll invite you over for sleepovers at my house, with all the lollies and junk food you want, and watch movies and let you stay up late. (it's what the "cool" aunties do after all)

I’ll revel in buying you clothes and toys and whatever your heart desires – because isn’t that what aunties do?

Also Little Miss, you have the best parents ever! I know in your teenage years you wont agree with me, but once you get a little older and look back you will realise how amazing they are. You are their pride and joy...

I hope to be able to keep watching you grow up, even that I'm moving to the other side of the country soon. One of the hardest things about leaving is that I wont get to see your smiling face when ever I want. Lucky for the Internet!!

I promise to add a letter to this one every year!

I love you to the moon and back Little Miss.

Love Aunty Dani

Being an Aunty

I {heart} being an Aunty!

Little Miss Kieley! At 14 months old she is a cheeky, sneaky, adorable Little Miss with a big smile. As soon as that cheeky smile or one of her many goofy facial expressions is on her face it is hard not to laugh.(Even if she is up to no good).

Reasons why I love it so much:

No.10
I can buy her all the unnecessary toys a kid could want!

No.9
I can spoil her rotten!

No.8
Aunties are COOL! Well I know mine are. Only aunties can hug like a mother, keep secrets like a sister and share love like a friend

No.7
My niece is the most beautiful cheeky "Little Miss" in the whole wide world!(Modest much?)

No.6
I get to be a big kid! (We all love being a kid now and again)

No.5
It's my duty to teach her bad habits like picking her nose!

No.4
Watching endless cartoons without people thinking I'm "immature"! =o)

No.3
Did I mention I have the most adorable niece in the whole wide world?

No.2
CUDDLES! Enough said!

No.1
I can give her back at the end of the day.... Not that I would ever want to!

So to T.J & Dee, You guys made an amazing little girl, you are both brilliant parents and Kieley is a very lucky Little Miss! I can't wait to be an aunty again! *hint hint*

Changing plans...

Location: Inverloch Caves, Wonthaggi Mine, Inverloch Beach

The "Old Fart" called me last night, with an offer I could not possibly knock back. As he is the biggest worry-wart on earth (maybe in the entire Galaxy), he has offered to pay for my car to get transported over to WA by truck. ...WOW... Offers like this don't come around everyday.

So what did I think about this? Well I'm grateful, very! As much as the idea of this road trip has been exciting, I have to sit back and look at the big picture. I need to get to Mandurah and put the wheels in motion ASAP! So yes, I'm very excited, Thankful and just over the moon. The Nullarbor isn't going to vanish tomorrow =o)

Location: Mandurah foreshore
I don't like asking for help, more lately than ever before. I'm stubborn just like my Dad I guess, got to get it from somewhere. I also think I'm trying to prove something to my self, but I'm not to sure what that is just yet. All I can say is I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have such amazing parents.

So this is a big huge loving thank-you to my Dad!!
